The Barrel plot

Thirteen-year-old Luis lives with his family on Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela. A lot of oil is extracted in this region. The family does not benefit from this. They only notice that there is more and more oil in the water and that they have to sail further and further to find fish. However, Luis is not concerned with that. He wants nothing more than to convert an old oil drum into a boat to participate in a boat race.
