Terre d'Usage plot
What does the Auvergne actually stand for, that region in the center of France with Clermont-Ferrand as an administrative, economic (because home of Michelin) and cultural center? That is the question that the makers of this film ask in their documentary “Terre d'Usage”, which is conceived as a mosaic. The central figure is Pierre Juquin, a militant communist and deputy who is currently more closely aligned with Daniel Cohn-Bendit's ecological party. His memories and beliefs are the common thread of this document. But Juquin also acts as a kind of guide. Because he guides us to various Auvergnats, from a retired Michelin worker to a doctor.
