Storm under the Sun plot

Helmsman Mao Zedong was considered 'the Red Sun' in China when alive. He achieved his divine status by destroying the autonomy of Chinese intellectuals and silencing them through a communist regime and a series of political 'storms' that hit them hard. Mao himself initiated the Anti-Hu Feng Counter-Revolutionary Group Campaign in 1955, which resulted in the incarceration of 78 Chinese intellectuals, mostly poets and writers, and which led to the indictment of more than 2,100 people.
