The Chagos Archipelago is a group of seven islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean. These paradise islands were once inhabited by the Illois. This archipelago was part of the British colonial empire, but in the late 1960s the US wanted to establish a military base there. That is why the entire population had to leave. They were forcibly relocated to the island of Mauritius, one and a half thousand kilometers from their own island. There they were left to their own devices.
