Si Tu Es un Homme plot

Opio, 13 years old, works at the Perkoa gold mine in Burkina Faso. Still too young to descend into the underground galleries, his boss "pays" him every month with a bag of pebbles from the mine. He has to smash it in the hope of finding some gold. With every bag the same excitement and the same hope of riches, always disappointed by the meager booty. To ensure a future for him, his father wants him to follow vocational training in the neighboring town of Réo. But Opio will have to earn the school fees herself.
