Shiranuikai plot

In this documentary, Tsuchimoto returns to Minamata where, after winning the lawsuits and receiving compensation, the victims live on with irreparable damage from their illness. The so-called Minamata disease is a neurological syndrome caused by severe mercury poisoning. The area was polluted by the discharge of industrial waste containing mercury. The film also focuses on the growing number of unidentified victims, similarly poisoned, in the bay on the other side of the Shiranui Sea.
