Shame plot

In June 2002, Pakistani Mukhtaran Mai is raped by a group of men. The whole family is overcome with immense shame after the incident and Mukhtaran tries to commit suicide. But where other women who suffered such a fate are forever silent about what happened to them, Mukhtaran finally decides to make her story public and charge her rapists.
