Scheherazade's Diary plot

After a 10-month drama therapy workshop, 10 imprisoned women from a Beirut prison present their play 'Scheherazade' to the public. This film follows the women in the run-up to their performance. They tell their story and show how difficult it is to be a woman in the Arab world in general, and in Lebanon in particular, because society there is dominated by a patriarchal mentality. They give a voice to all women who feel they are prisoners of an oppressive mentality, which sometimes drives women to commit crimes.
