Rivierenbuurt - Het Gelijk van Berlage plot

Documentary by director Jan Wiegel, who died in 1994, about the Rivierenbuurt in Amsterdam South. The Rivierenbuurt is the center of gravity of Het Plan Zuid that architect Berlage developed at the beginning of the twentieth century. Jan Wiegel was born in 1929 in this district and spent his childhood there. During the Second World War he saw how the occupying forces moved into the neighborhood and witnessed raids. Since then, a veil has hung over the beautiful decor that Berlage designed. After 60 years of absence, Wiegel returns to the Rivierenbuurt.
