½ Revolution plot
January 2011, downtown Cairo, Egypt. A tight-knit group of activists and friends from the same neighborhood - near Tarir Square - struggle to survive and stay together amid the escalating protests around them. Directors Omar Shargawi and Karim El Hakim take to the streets and capture the historical events on screen; that which remains out of reach of the world media. Friends and neighbors come together and must fight to face the police and armed gangs that populate the streets. An intuitive, 'handheld' portrait is told with small, spontaneous moments that offer the viewer a front-row seat to the Egyptian Revolution.
