Reconversão plot

With Reconversão, Thom Andersen opens a chapter of his ongoing research into architectural landscapes, their cinematic representation and their relationship to history. He focuses on seventeen buildings and projects by the often controversial Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. In the film Andersen shows what Souto de Moura's architecture stands for: the embedding of the passage of time in architectural designs, which he places within a fraught history of class struggle and social change.
