Rabindranath Tagore plot

"'His mortal remains perished, but he left behind him a heritage which no fire could consume.'"

The documentary describes the life and work of the famous Bengali writer Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941). He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his deeply sensitive, fresh and beautiful poems, which he expressed in his own English words. He was the youngest son of Debendranath Tagore and was born in Calcutta. He was home-schooled. At seventeen he was sent to England to complete the rest of his studies. Tagore was criticized by the British government in 1915, but was reinstated several years later as a protest against British policies in India.
