Postmoderne Hutspot plot

In this documentary, Michiel van Erp filmed the developments surrounding the establishment of the National Historical Museum for three years. In 2006 Jan Marijnissen and Maxim Verhagen took the initiative for the realization of the museum yet to be built. The NHM should explain our 'common identity' and promote the connection between the cultures present in the Netherlands. Due to differences of opinion between all kinds of stakeholders, a fierce discussion broke out in the House of Representatives and in the media at the beginning of 2009 about the location of the museum and its interpretation. This did not improve with the arrival of the current Cabinet in the autumn of 2010, with the government's decision to stop all subsidies for the NHM as an anticlimax, and to dismantle the entire NHM organization as of 1 January 2012.
