In the opening of this portrait of German top footballer Lukas Podolski, he amusingly makes it clear that he sees no value in a conventional documentary. The focus should be more on his family and the people behind the scenes who played a key role in his life. This means that Monika (his wife since 2004) allows herself to be interviewed for the first time (without cameras). Her contribution is a valuable addition to this otherwise tame, uncritical, and superficial tribute.
