Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives plot
In this documentary, Mark Oliver Everett, lead singer of the band EELS, examines the life of his father Hugh Everett III (1930-1982), who was the first to formulate the 'many worlds interpretation' in quantum mechanics. The film follows Mark on his journey through America, where he meets old friends and colleagues of his father. Hugh Everett III died of a heart attack at his home in 1982, where his body was found by 19-year-old Mark. Although they had lived in the same house, they were estranged from each other. By entering the paradoxical world of quantum mechanics, Mark hopes to understand why he was such a "stranger" to his own father.
