Paleis Het Loo plot

Royal Palace Het Loo is about to undergo a major revolution. In times of austerity, how do you prepare a traditional institution for a new era and a new generation? For a year, director Hansje Quartel follows professionals and volunteers behind the scenes of their museum. The year 2012 is complicated for them, because not everyone is happy with the changes in course within the National Heritage and the cutbacks from The Hague. More visitors need to come, but how do they go about that? Does Het Loo go along with the trend that everything should become an 'experience' or do they make the authentic and historical their strength?
