Our Summer in Tehran plot

Looking for a different perspective on Iran than news footage of demonstrations and preaching ayatollahs, filmmaker Justine Shapiro packs her bags for a summer in Tehran. She takes her six-year-old son Mateo with her. On the plane just before landing, she puts on her headscarf and continues to wear it consistently outdoors. Indoors, where she makes the acquaintance of three middle-class Iranian families, she usually takes off the cloth, unlike her hostesses, who are not allowed to go bare-headed with the camera around.
