One Light, One World plot
Documentary about the 1992 Winter Olympics held in Albertville (France). Anchorage (United States), Berchtesgaden (Germany), Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy), Lillehammer (Norway), Falun (Sweden) and Sofia (Bulgaria) were also candidates. Jean-Claude Killy, the three-time medal winner, had campaigned in 1981 to bring the Winter Games back to France. To this end, he joined forces with Michel Barnier, a politician from Savoie. On 17 October 1986, the IOC decided to award the 1992 Winter Games to Albertville. Albertville had a very strong case and was probably also helped by the fact that the 1992 Summer Games had been awarded to Barcelona, and not Paris.
