Nou, Dat Was Het Dan! plot

In 1980, journalist Ruud den Drijver clashes with the two most notorious directors in the Netherlands: Paul Verhoeven and Wim Verstappen, passionate filmmakers, competitors and colleagues. A completely out of hand double interview about pipes and film art, among other things. 25 years later (Wim Verstappen has since passed away), den Drijver and Verhoeven meet again, during the Cannes Film Festival. Verhoeven has meanwhile caused a furore in Hollywood and speaks candidly about the current neo-conservative politics of the US and about his work in Hollywood. WELL, THAT WAS IT! (1980 - 2005) is a retrospective of the careers of two passionate film directors and a time document with strong statements.
