Nieuwlande - Onverzettelijk Onderduikdorp plot

In the Drenthe village of Nieuwlande and the surrounding area, more than a hundred Jews went into hiding during the war. The village received a Yad Vashem award for this in 1985. Only two villages in the whole world have received this. In the documentary, filmmaker Martijn Bink goes in search of the story behind the resistance in this small village. Why were the inhabitants prepared to give shelter to strangers at the risk of their own lives? Who were those people in hiding? What role did faith play? And what did the Germans know?
