My Kidnapper plot
In 2003, the world news was dominated for some time by the disappearance and, as it turned out, kidnapping of eight backpackers in Colombia. They were locked up deep in the impenetrable forest of the Sierra Nevada for 101 days. In his diaries published later, the British Mark Henderson records his experiences: feelings of incomprehension, terror and a constant swing between hope and fear. Eleven months after his liberation, he receives an email from his personal guard, the man with whom he has developed a certain bond despite everything. The two maintain contact without the outside world being aware of it. Six years after the kidnapping, Henderson decides to take a trip to Colombia with three fellow sufferers, two Israelis and a German, to meet his kidnapper. This film is an account of that journey and also a reconstruction of the 101 days that changed the lives of these people forever.
