My Atomic Aunt plot
They were once ardent supporters of nuclear energy, nuclear power plants and their managers. Now, exactly two years after the nuclear disaster of Fukushima, Aunt Kunika and her village community are facing total disillusionment. Director Kyoko Miyake has lived outside Japan for over a decade and now returns to Fukushima. She is curious about how her native village Namié is doing, where she especially remembers the idyllic children's holidays with friendly beaches and smiling neighbours. Now Namié has been completely destroyed by the tsunami and because of the radiation hazard it will never be rebuilt. Why aren't people angry?
