Muziek op de Vlucht plot

In the refugee camp of Calais, a clear male voice is heard. He sings melancholy: 'I am here, but my soul is on the other side of the sea'. It is a striking description of the state of mind of the thousands of refugees, many of whom have been bivouacking here for months. In the makeshift tent camp, the hope for a better life has given way to fear, sadness and apathy. What remains for them is music. Out of protest, solidarity or melancholy. The music restores dignity to the inhabitants of the camp. Calais takes on a human face.
