This documentary explores the role music played in the extraordinary life of one of the world's most important icons. His closest friends, former exiled musicians, current international artists and community volunteers, who all use music to motivate and educate people, comment on the music that has emerged from Mandela's inspiring life journey. It also examines what music means to South Africans and how it connected people, while at the same time becoming a weapon against apartheid.
