Moscou plot
In "Moscou", Eduardo Coutinho follows the Brazilian theater group Galpão during the preparations for the play Three Sisters of Chekhov. The film is a documentary, but the basis is fiction: Coutinho approached the renowned theater group with the idea of mastering a stage performance in three weeks. Only on the day Coutinho starts shooting, the actors are told which text they have to master during this short period. The film director is not concerned with the ultimate goal - the rehearsed piece will never be performed in front of an audience - but, as in Chekhov's play, with the arduous road to get there. This is shown in exciting recordings of workshops, improvisations and rehearsals.
