Monument van Trots plot
On September 5, 1987, an impressive monument was unveiled in Amsterdam 'to inspire and support gay men and women in their fight against denial, oppression and discrimination'. Thirty years later, Sebastiaan Kes made a documentary about this gay monument. The film paints a picture of the emancipation struggle of the LGBTQI+ community over the years. Historical images of events at the gay monument tell the story of the pink revolution in the Netherlands. Activists and historians take the floor, always focusing on the parallel between the present and the past.
