Mirath plot
Born in Beirut in 1964, son and grandson of emigrants fleeing wars and massacres, Philippe Aractingi is French-Lebanese and his life is a permanent exile. Three times he left his country due to attacks and waited safely in the Paris suburbs for his return to his native country. In this documentary he decides to film his homecoming. Philippe tells his three children, who accompany him, what the civil war was like and shows them the old limits of hatred in rebuilt Beirut. He takes them to his mother's house, takes from a drawer the grenades he played with as a child, and explains that even if they grew up in France, they should be proud to be Lebanese too.
