Mineshaft: The Cruising Murders plot
This documentary looks back at the controversy surrounding the making and release of the film Cruising (1980), directed by William Friedkin and starring Al Pacino. The film sparked intense protests from the LGBTQ+ community because it deals with a serial killer preying on locations in New York where homosexuals primarily congregate. Friedkin drew inspiration from the true story of the murder of film journalist Addison Verrill.
