Meistras Ir Tatjana plot
Lithuanian photographer Vitus Luckus (1943-1987) is regarded by his colleagues as one of the most important artists of his time, but he was rarely recognized during his lifetime. Authorities in the Soviet Union prevented exhibitions of his work, even though he was the country's most successful commercial photographer. And when he jumped to his death from his flat in Vilnius at the age of 43, he was completely forgotten. It was not until long after Lithuania's independence in 1990 that his photos, often taken during long journeys to all corners of the Soviet Union, were again put on public display. Cut up with an immense amount of archive material, colleagues, friends and Vitus' wife Tatyana look back on his turbulent life. They fondly recall those long days and nights in Vilnius, when Vitus's apartment - which he shared with Tatyana and their lion cub - drew artists from all over the Soviet Union to Lithuania.
