Max Richter's Sleep plot
In 2015, composer Max Richter released the eight-hour 'Sleep', a composition that explores the twilight zone between waking and sleeping and between consciousness and subconsciousness. The documentary zooms in on a series of live performances of the piece, most notably the one in Grand Park, Los Angeles in July 2018. Visitors were encouraged to sit on a stretcher and decide for themselves whether to wake or sleep. In addition to Richter and his wife, the artist Yulia Mahr, various visitors to the concert also have their say.
