Marga Minco, de Schaduw van de Herinnering plot

In this documentary by Maarten Schmidt & Thomas Doebele, Marga Minco talks about what happened to her and her family during the Second World War. During a number of meetings with the writer, at home behind her desk, three stories form the basis for the conversations: The Men, My mother's village and The address. These were three decisive moments for her: the decision to flee leaving her parents behind, the futile attempt to save her father and mother from being transported from Westerbork and after the war the farewell to the tangible memories of her family. Minco has incorporated these defining moments in the life of a Jewish family during the German occupation in her oeuvre in an extremely sober and penetrating way. Marga Minco, 90, still sits behind her typewriter every day and talks about her memories, writing and reality.
