Manoro plot
"The teacher."
The Aeta are a people that traditionally live in the Philippine mountain region. However, after the eruption of a long inactive volcano, the community has moved to the nearby empty lands and the children attend state-funded schools for the first time. Jonalyn is a 13-year-old girl who has just graduated and is eager to share her knowledge with the community. When she hears that the elections are coming, she encourages the villagers to vote, but it's difficult because most of them can't even read. Jonalyn decides to run an accelerated course to teach the adults how the democratic process works.
