Make Believe plot

"Pick a star. Any star."

In Make Believe, director J. Clay Tweel follows six adolescents who all share the same passion: the art of magic. Armed with an arsenal of skills and illusions, these teens come from Malibu, California; Chicago, Illinois; Cape Town, South Africa; Littleton, Colorado, and Kitayama, Japan attend the annual World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas in hopes of being crowned teen world champion by master magician Lance Burton. The teens are remarkably confident and dedicated entertainers. Behind the scenes, they face the various hurdles of adolescence: loneliness, high parental expectations, the pressures of looming stardom, extreme poverty, and the need to 'belong'.
