Maiko: Dancing Child plot
Maiko's fate was determined before she was born. Her name means 'dancing child' in Japanese and she more than lives up to that promise as a ballet dancer. She had to make a lot of sacrifices for that - and not only her. At the age of fifteen, Maiko left for London for a prestigious dance course. To pay the school fees, her mother sold their house and her parents denied themselves all luxuries. Then failure is not an option. Now in her early thirties, the ambitious Japanese is exactly where she wants to be: a prima ballerina with the Norwegian National Ballet. But it itch: Maiko wants a child. Can that go hand in hand with her ambition to stay at the top?
