Ludwig van Beethoven plot

A film about the life and work, overshadowed by tragedy, of the brilliant master of the classical German heritage. Beethoven's musical arrangements are performed by major orchestras conducted by conductors such as Hermann Abendroth, Heinz Bongartz, Rudolf Kempe and Franz Konwitschny. By means of old prints and documents, film recordings of the places where Beethoven's concerts took place, the film shows the life of the great composer before our eyes and attempts to understand the relationship between the life and work of the artist.
