A documentary about the American lotteries. Director Jeffrey Blitz looks for the biggest winners and losers in this industry and what the impact is on the private lives of these people. Quang is a Vietnamese refugee, for whom the American dream comes true after winning 22 million dollars. Quang also works in a meat factory. Before James wins millions, he lives secluded with his many cats in a garbage-strewn bungalow. Kristine and Steve from Skillman, New Jersey are a US middle class couple who have won $110 million. They decide to leave their hometown so that they can settle in a more affluent community in the south of the US.
