Lovers' Notebooks plot
With graffiti on the walls, the people of the small town of Saraqeb in Syria express the ongoing misery in the country and the changes since the revolution. The walls are the basis of existence; they protect against outside violence. In addition, they bear the names of martyrs, sayings that are heard daily in the street, the poetry of poets, revolutionary slogans and other graffiti. This documentary shows the constant tension between rebellion fueled energy and a sense of despair; leaving a place and deciding to come back; the euphoria about the beauty of an image and the fear of war.
