Lost Mother plot

All nine of Nel's children are under supervision or have been removed from home. Three of her sons are in juvenile detention. "What kind of mother is this?" Margit wonders at the start of the documentary. The film portrays the despair and inability of a mother who cannot handle a situation like this. Nel has hardly any contact with care providers. The complexity of the problems within the family also repeatedly presents care providers with dilemmas. The film sketches the despair of a mother who does not see aid in this complex situation side by side, but opposite.
