Lost Course plot

The fishing village of Wukan in southern China's Guangdong province made headlines in September 2011 as residents protested en masse against local administrators who were found to be involved in illegally selling community-owned land. Debut filmmaker Jill Li won the confidence of the protesting residents. She closely followed their struggle for six years during which hopes for a new, just government and loyalty to the central government in Beijing eventually gave way to disillusionment.
