Los Ofendidos plot
Filmmaker Marcela Zamora learned at the age of 33 that her father was arrested in El Salvador during the civil war in the 1980s and was tortured by the regime for 33 days. Only two years later she has the courage to confront her father, now a retired politician and diplomat, and asks him to tell about that period and the torture. In addition, she interviews some other men who were tortured during that period because they were seen as subversive, and a man who himself cooperated in the torture as a subordinate. The testimonies, which are illustrated with often shocking archive images, provide insight into the scale of this horrific war in which tens of thousands of people were murdered under obscure circumstances.
