Lone Twin plot
At the beginning of the film 'Lone Twin', the Belgian filmmaker Anna Van der Wee immediately shares her personal story, which was also her motivation for making the documentary. She talks about her twin brother Dirk in the past tense. He was the one who could sit still, she wasn't. Dirk died when he was twenty and since then Anna has had to go on without her bosom friend. The film is about that lack and absence, which were processed completely separately from her at home. It's hard to imagine what it can mean to be part of twins when one isn't part of it oneself.
