Like Tears in Rain plot

According to the makers, the documentary paints 'a picture of the actor as he really was: a headstrong and gentle man with an exceptional amount of affection for his friends'. Rutger's goddaughter spoke to countless friends and famous colleagues for the film, such as Paul Verhoeven, Monique van de Ven, Anton Corbijn, Whoopi Goldberg and Mickey Rourke. Rutger passed away in 2019 at the age of 75. He played in more than two hundred films and series in the Netherlands and abroad.

We learn above all that Rutger Hauer – the most famous Dutch actor – could not really act but with his blond, god-like appearance and his typical Amsterdam freebooter mentality he reached the top. He was a breath of fresh air because he took nothing seriously, except his friends and life itself, and he was not only a poet in word but also in deed, but the documentary is a bit too much of a hagiography for my taste that almost literally portrays Rutger as a god.
