Lezate Divanegi plot
Autumn 2002, Kabul, Afghanistan. Hana Makhmalbaf, daughter of the well-known Iranian filmmaker Moshen Makhmalbaf, follows her older sister Samira who, just after the fall of the Taliban regime, searches for actors and actresses among the local population for her film Panjéasr, about an Afghan girl who has decided to compete for the presidency of Afghanistan. Through the gaze of fourteen-year-old Hana's digital camera, the casting and location are an opportunity to examine Afghan society; in particular, the motivations of the women, their insecurities and the mistrust they have of the freedom they have just regained.
