Born in 1839, Paul Cézanne is the painter of numerous portraits and landscapes of Provence in the South of France. Throughout the nineteenth century, classified by painters as Impressionists, Cézanne's work extends beyond the Impressionist period and is probably the most difficult to identify. While the Impressionists used small brush strokes, Paul Cézanne used thick strokes and blobs, emphasizing geometric shapes and evolving into Cubism. This documentary gives a look at his work.
