Last Supper plot

With endless patience and love, a rough-looking Texan in his fifties deep-fries pieces of fish, chicken and onion rings. It turns out to be the favorite snack of one of the two hundred inmates on death row for whom he prepared the last meal. In their Last Supper, Swedish filmmakers and artists Mats Bigert and Lars Bergström examine the history and facts surrounding this last time. Centuries ago, the meal was a regular part of the funeral ritual. Today there is a curious aftertaste and the question arises: what is the point of taking nutrients if someone has to die two hours later?
