The US presidential election of 2000 is heading for an unparalleled electoral imbroglio. After two months of absolute confusion, Bush promises a hotly contested victory. This documentary not only provides an overview of the events, but also emphasizes the mechanisms behind the election campaigns in Uncle Sam's country. Philip Seymour Hoffman is the unsuspecting interviewer who allows famous and unknown politicians and activists to speak, thus shedding light on the bitter struggle between the supporters of Democratic candidate Al Gore, Republican George Bush and the many other candidates that played no significant role. Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky, Jesse Jackson, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, among others, give us a look at the balance of power in the US and what is at stake during such elections.
