Land Rush plot
"How do you feed the world?"
Seventy-five percent of the population in Mali is farmers, but in the struggle for valuable agricultural land for the expanding world population, local farmers are increasingly being driven out. Rich nations like China and Saudi Arabia want to set up gigantic 'agribusiness farms' in Mali. The population experiences this as yet another imperialist wave that is engulfing their country. What can farmers do to combat food shortages and preserve their land and how do the inhabitants of Mali escape poverty on their own terms?
