La Vie en Chantant plot

In the Liège café Les Olivettes, guests sang live chansons to piano accompaniment. No karaoke, no playback, but they sing from their own full 'gargle' in front of the full pub. Some guests have been coming for years (Les Olivettes hasn't changed since the First World War), others have recently discovered the charming café Chantant. It is a close-knit community, where many find comfort. The images from the well-run café are interspersed with interviews with the toilet lady Madame Pipi, owners Emile and Denise Roka and some guests at home. Personal histories are released in the tranquility of one's own living room.
