La Tropical plot
Music lovers call it the best dance club in the world, but you won't find it in any travel brochure. Once started as part of a beer brewery, La Tropical has grown into one of Cuba's most important dance venues. An explosive show with stirring rhythms, that's what people want. The film 'La Tropical' introduces us to a number of regular visitors and employees of the dancing. For example, there is the 77-year-old Tikitiki, who feels young again when dancing. And the musician Pedrito, who played in La Tropical for the first time 30 years ago and who now gives concerts all over the world with his band Los Van Van. A dancer who loves to show herself to the public and a singer who, in addition to dance music, also engages in mysterious religious rituals. Dancing becomes a world in which loves blossom and tragedies occur, in short, in which all aspects of life are represented. Everyone is different, but the visitors have one thing in common: the salsa and rumba help them free themselves from the pressures of their daily lives.
