La Sierra plot
In the Colombian civil war, left-wing guerrilla movements, government troops and right-wing paramilitary groups have been fighting a hopeless battle for many years. In recent years, the battleground has increasingly moved to urban areas, where guerrillas and paramilitaries rule. City gangs join forces and the national conflict has turned into a brutal city war in which neighborhoods fight against each other. La Sierra is a neighborhood in the Colombian city of Medellin. The film follows the lives of various young people in this district for a year. La Sierra tells the story of Edison, a 22-year-old paramilitary leader and father of a six-year-old child, of Cielo, a 17-year-old mother, widow and betrothed of a prisoner, and of Jesus, a 19-year-old paramilitary soldier.
